[ NOTE: Even though Arsenic and Realgar (an arsenic sulphide mineral that forms really pretty red crystals) are poisonous, Realgar was used in fireworks to make them white, and is still used today for certain types of fire crackers. Therefore, I am not quite sure just how deadly Leonardo wanted this smoke to be. Alas, it’s the thought that counts… ]
